BREWERY NEWS

Well, the holidays are over, and another year has come to an end, but we are excited about the new things to come along in the New Year.

Stoudts Winter Ale has proven to be very popular this year. If you have not yet tried this hoppy red ale, we would recommend doing so. We should continue to have this beer available in draft and bottles at least for the month of January. It will continue to be on draft in our pub and can be found at some of your local watering holes and distributors as well.

We are pleased to announce the return of Old Abominable Barley Wine Ale. This seasonal favorite is brewed using 80% Maris Otter malts imported from the UK. We hop this beer with a single variety of domestically grown hops. The rich malt character and assertive hops blend well, creating a smooth, full-bodied beer. This beer is available on draft at our pub, and in limited edition corked 750 ml bottles.

FROM THE CHEF'S TABLE

The month of January 2010, Stoudt's Black Angus restaurant and brew pub will be featuring elk on our Chef's specialty menu. This elk is farm raised in New Zealand and graze freely in natural conditions with supplemental natural food in the cold months These natural conditions contribute to the flavor, which is described as the sweetest of the deer meats, lacking deer's gaminess .Offering an exciting new flavor in red meat, elk is best when middle meats, such as the racks, loins and tenders, are cooked quickly over high heat. Because of their lean red meat we recommend the preparation not to exceed "medium" doneness. We are looking forward to sharing these dishes with you.
